Flooring services Chesham
At The Solid Wood Flooring Company, being environmentally friendly is in our blood. We want to help make designs that are long-lasting, high-quality, and have a small impact on the environment.
We use and repurpose every piece of wood we buy by working with architects and interior designers. This lets us make unique designs without giving up our commitment to the environment. We make engineered boards with a shiny surface by scouring and brushing rustic-grade materials.
We know that our products come from certified, well-managed, and sustainable forests because we work with the FSC® and PEFCTM. Also, as part of our partnership with Gone West, for every tree we cut down, we plant three more. Overall, we are making eco-friendly materials for eco-friendly design.
THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY'S CONTRIBUTION TO THE CLIMATE CHANGE CRISIS
The construction business is responsible for 45 percent of all carbon emissions in the United Kingdom, which is a very high number. This is because the sector uses a lot of the world's cement, polymers, aluminium, and steel. It uses 25 percent of all polymers, 26 percent of all aluminium, and 50 percent of all steel.
One of the main reasons for this is that tearing down buildings is a very inefficient way to make money. In support of the RetroFirst initiative, the Solid Wood Flooring Company says that retrofitting is a good way to be green.
SUSTAINABLE LIVING STARTS WITH SUSTAINABLE FLOORING
By reusing a building instead of tearing it down, you not only help solve the problem of climate change, but you also make it easier for people to live in a sustainable way.
Sustainable living encourages good ways to fight climate change, with the goal of reducing the environmental impact of both individuals and society as a whole. Sustainable living encourages us to use the Earth's resources sparingly and to lessen the damage we cause when we interact with the environment.
Even though there is no perfect way to live in a sustainable way or a plan for getting to a zero-net lifestyle, there are things we can all do to live in a sustainable way. For us, sustainable living starts with sustainable design, which means that we always have to have sustainable flooring.
If you have a project coming up, you can help us protect the future of our world by choosing a design that is sustainable. Find out how we've worked with architects, developers, and interior designers to make large residential complexes more sustainable places to live.
FITZHARDINGE HOUSE
Sustainable living requires collective effort. It is something we depend on. We worked with Base Interior, Mandarin Stone, and Crosswater on a renovation in Kensington, an upscale area of Central London.
Fitzhardinge House has a modern, clean, and crisp look that is influenced by Scandi design. Our Light Brushed Fumed Raw Timber UV Cured Finish Flooring was used to make this happen. By making the space bright and open, we help this kind of eco-friendly living hold up over time from every angle.
The tiles came from Mandarin Stone, and the faucets came from Cross Water. This shows how sustainable, collaborative design can be done without sacrificing aesthetics.
Prince of Wales Drive has flats with 1, 2, 3, and 4 bedrooms. They are close to Battersea Park and are surrounded by 2.5 acres of well-kept gardens. With amenities like a 17-meter pool, sauna, steam room, theatre, and games area, it has to have a unique and beautiful interior design.
As part of Phase 1, we installed our beautiful Herringbone Parquet Engineered Brushed White Oiled Oak Flooring. Fully bonded flooring is made for areas with a lot of foot traffic and is very durable, which helps the project last for a long time.
By using engineered flooring, the Prince of Wales Drive project encourages people to live in an eco-friendly way. It is better for the environment because it takes much less wood per board than solid hardwood. Also, it uses 75% less Oak and other slow-growing hardwoods because Birch and Poplar grow faster and are used instead.
As part of efforts to reduce carbon emissions and fight climate change, making this engineered wood flooring doesn't cause much pollution.
LONDON DOCK
Some of the most famous places in London, like Tower Bridge and The Tower of London, are close to London Dock by St. George. With close access to zone 1 transit, 7.5 acres of well-kept open space, and high-end spa and gym facilities, it is important that sustainable living also look good.
Working with Berkeley Homes, we made sure the floor met the strict requirements of the interior designers. By putting our Cobble Grey Oak Herringbone Parquet Flooring in areas that get a lot of use, like the kitchen, we create a durable place to live. This makes it less likely that it will need to be replaced in the future, which is good for living and designing in a sustainable way.
SUSTAINABLE INTERIOR DESIGN DONE DIFFERENTLY
The first thing we did was fix up Grade I and Grade II listed buildings. We spent many years studying and making high-quality engineered flooring for interior designers because there weren't enough products made in the United States and cheap imports were of poor quality.
Since the beginning, we've worked closely with architects, builders, installers, and interior designers to make flooring that matches the concept of how it should look. When architects and designers put money into innovation, they get access to new levels of creativity.
All of our engineered boards can be used to cover walls or bar fronts to change the atmosphere or move things around. Using multipurpose boards, interior designers can make sure that the floors, walls, and bar fronts all look the same.
By making engineered flooring that can be used for many different things, we stay true to our promise to offer eco-friendly solutions that are great for green living and design for floor services Chesham.
